Welcome to Champions Run Golf Course
Hello and welcome to Champions Run Golf Course. We opened our doors to the golfing public in the fall of 2002 and we have continued to grow and cultivate our business and our course over the past 9 years. Champions Run is a peaceful setting in the heart of Middle Tennessee and offers fun golf for players of all ages and abilities. Its unique routing and design gives it a classic feel by allowing players choices in shot selection from the fairways and off the tee. Surrounded by the rolling hills of the area Champions Run is an old dairy farm with 3 silos still standing on the course and as you play number 11 you will quickly understand why this is called the “Silo” hole.
The course has a peaceful easy feeling as you maneuver off the first tee but it turns slightly more demanding as you enter holes 3 thru 9. This run of holes comprises of one par 3, one par 5, and 5 fun but difficult and challenging par 4 fours. The back side gives you a slight break on holes 10-12 but starts to show its bite again as you enter 13-15. The home stretch offers scoring opportunities if you still have some fuel in your golfing tank. The grasses on the course consist of native fescues in the primary rough on several holes (you want to avoid this as it will cost you stokes), Bermuda grass tees and fairways, and ultra dwarf Bermuda grass greens. The green sizes vary but are considered small to current standards and this makes iron play important at Champions Run. Being long here is good but ball placement and distance control are vital to shooting your best score. Don’t let the opening golf hole fool you or lull you to sleep as the test is just beginning.
One of the fun and classic sides of Champions Run is how walker friendly it is to play. Our architect, C. Stewart Moore, did a wonderful job placing tees and greens close enough together to make walking the course a joy. Also the property is relatively level so seniors and juniors alike can walk the course with little strain. This gives the course a gracious feel without all the pomp and circumstance that has cluttered many of the courses over the years. Champions Run also offers a wonderful practice facility with areas to work on short game. There are delicious food options in our grill area and an inviting back porch to relax on after the round is complete. Our goal at Champions Run is to offer quality golf and service at an affordable price. We are working daily to serve the golfing public and invite you to come and join us.
All the best,
